The Firm & Strategic Direction:

Law Staff is partnering with the Board of a highly regarded national law firm to strengthen and expand its Brisbane Corporate practice as part of an ambitious national growth strategy.

This is a compelling opportunity for an established Partner seeking a stronger platform for practice growth and increased earnings, or an accomplished Special Counsel ready to take the next step into partnership based on their strong connections.

With national revenue in the $200m range, the firm is investing strategically in key industry sectors, with Corporate M&A as a major pillar of continued growth.

The firm offers a combination of deep technical expertise, established client relationships and a commercially focused approach to complex, high-value transactions. 

The Role:

You will play a pivotal role in developing the Brisbane practice, combining traditional Corporate M&A expertise with the expanding opportunities emerging across various sectors.

Your practice may encompass one or both of the following areas:

Corporate & Commercial:

• Corporate M&A and strategic transactions.
• Asset acquisitions and divestments.
• Private equity and joint ventures.
• Corporate advisory and commercial contracting.
• Regulatory, governance and risk-related matters.

Leadership & Market Development:

Beyond technical excellence, you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the practice through:

• Strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities across the renewable energy sector.
• Expanding the firm's corporate transaction capability and identifying cross-practice opportunities.
• Mentoring and developing lawyers within the Brisbane team.
• Enhancing the firm's profile across Queensland and the broader national energy market.
• Contributing to a clearly defined strategy for sustainable practice growth and profitability.

About You:

You are likely to be an established Corporate Partner, or an experienced Special Counsel or Of Counsel with a strong industry profile and a clear pathway to partnership.

You will ideally bring:

• A strong reputation in the market and established portable client relationships across Corporate Law.
• Experience gained within a top-tier or mid-tier national law firm, or a comparable practice environment.
• A commercially astute approach to client service, transaction management and business development.
• The leadership capability to build teams, develop talent and foster enduring client relationships.
• A credible and compelling vision for growing a successful practice within an established national platform.

Partner Remuneration:

Remuneration will be tailored to your experience, practice profile, client following and proposed contribution to the firm's growth. Indicative remuneration levels are:

• Salaried Partner: $450,000–$550,000+
• Equity Partner: $1.2m+, depending on fees under management and the agreed equity structure.
