Our client is a respected, values-driven organisation operating within the education sector. With a strong commitment to delivering quality educational services, the organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support its finance function during a busy period.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing financial reporting and compliance across two entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Manage month-end processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Support year-end financial reporting and external audit preparation.
- Assist with statutory reporting and tax obligations, including GST, BAS and FBT.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the CFO to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or similar financial accounting position.
- Strong technical accounting skills, particularly financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance requirements.
- Strong Excel skills, with experience using TASS highly regarded.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- CPA or CA qualifications, or equivalent relevant experience, essential
Experience within education, not-for-profit or similarly structured organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
