Executive Assistant - Director
- Provide executive support to the Director of the Engineering Directorate.
- Manage executive priorities, workflows, and communications.
- Anticipate needs and ensure effective coordination within the Directorate.
This is more than a traditional Executive Assistant role. It's an opportunity to work alongside the leadership of one of Council's largest and most diverse areas, helping to shape priorities, resolve problems and keep a busy Directorate moving forward.
You'll become a trusted partner to the Director, bringing judgement, initiative and exceptional organisation to the role. You'll anticipate what's needed, help make the best use of the Director's time, connect people and information, and make sure important issues don't fall through the gaps.
If you're an experienced EA who enjoys being one step ahead, making things happen and working in an environment where every day is different, this could be the role for you.
About the role:
Council's Engineering Directorate delivers and manages much of the infrastructure and essential services the Tweed community relies on every day, including roads and transport, water and wastewater, stormwater, flood management, plant and depots, and major infrastructure.
Working closely with the Director and Directorate leadership team, you'll manage executive priorities and workflows, coordinate briefings and communications, keep actions moving and support governance and reporting.
You'll be trusted to use good judgement to identify what you can resolve yourself, what needs coordination with others and what genuinely requires the Director's attention.
We're looking for someone who can see what's coming, bring order to complexity and make the people around them more effective.
What's on offer:
- a permanent full-time position
- a base salary ranging from $77,555.63 per annum with competency-based increments up to $91,053.50 per annum, plus 12% super
- 70 hour, 9 day fortnight, giving you a regular day away from work
- training and development opportunities
- flexible work options for a healthy work/life balance
- generous employment conditions (we have too many to list - click here for more).
We are seeking:
We're looking for an experienced executive support professional who is naturally proactive, organised and calm under pressure.
You'll think ahead, notice what needs attention and take ownership. You'll know when to act independently and when to escalate, while being mindful of the time and competing demands of the Director and other staff.
You'll bring strong communication and relationship skills, sound judgement and discretion, excellent organisation, and confidence using Microsoft 365 and contemporary business systems.
You don't need an engineering background. What matters is that you're an outstanding executive support professional who wants to understand the business, build trusted relationships and make a positive contribution.
