We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation & Injury Management Lead to join one of Australia's leading retailers on an immediate temporary basis.
In this national role, you will provide technical leadership across workers compensation and injury management, overseeing complex and high-risk claims while partnering with leaders, insurers, rehabilitation providers and healthcare professionals to drive recovery, compliance and financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex workers compensation claims, including psychological, litigated, disputed and long-duration matters.
- Drive early intervention strategies to support recovery and minimise claim duration and lost time.
- Lead return-to-work and suitable duties programs, ensuring safe and sustainable outcomes.
- Develop and oversee claim strategies while managing insurer, rehabilitation and provider performance.
- Ensure compliance with workers compensation and injury management obligations across all Australian jurisdictions.
- Provide expert advice and build capability across leaders and People & Culture teams.
- Analyse claims data, costs, trends and premium exposure to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement across injury management frameworks, processes, reporting and systems.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience across Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Proven success managing complex, sensitive and high-risk claims from end to end.
- Strong expertise in return-to-work, suitable duties and recovery-at-work programs.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- High levels of confidentiality, attention to detail and documentation standards.
- Allied Health, Rehabilitation or a related qualifications ( highly regarded)
